The PRISMA 2020 flow diagram

The sidebar keeps live PRISMA counts as you work: records identified, duplicates removed, records screened, excluded, and kept. Click Copy PRISMA counts to copy the numbers as text, or Build PRISMA diagram to draw the full PRISMA 2020 flow diagram from them. In the diagram builder you can add or adjust your full-text and included numbers, then export the finished figure as an image for your manuscript. The diagram and counts are free on every plan, and nothing leaves your browser.

Reports versus studies: study linking

PRISMA 2020 distinguishes reports (papers, protocol articles, conference abstracts) from studies (the underlying trials or cohorts), because one study often produces several publications. When your included records contain multiple reports of the same study, click Link reports into studies in the sidebar.

Select two or more related records and click Link selected to group them, with one report marked primary. The button then shows both counts (for example 12 reports of 9 studies), the sidebar reports reports and studies separately, and any wrong grouping is undone per record with Unlink. Your review can then honestly report both numbers, which manuscript reviewers increasingly check.

Generate your methods section

Click Methods & PRISMA checklist in the sidebar (Pro) to generate a methods-section draft assembled from your actual review: the criteria you screened against, the sources you imported from, the counts at each stage, and the procedures you used. The same panel produces a PRISMA 2020 reporting checklist pre-filled from your project. Both are drafts to edit, not text to paste blindly, but they start from your real data instead of a blank page.

Cite the tool

Journals expect you to name the software used for study selection. The cite page at /systematic-review-screening-tool/cite has copy-ready APA, Vancouver, and BibTeX citations, two methods-section paragraphs (standard dual screening, and AI-assisted screening with transparent disclosure), and a citation for the published accuracy benchmark.

Share a read-only link

Supervisors and co-authors often need to see progress without an account or edit rights. Open My saved reviews, and on any saved review click the share button (Share a read-only summary link). The tool generates a link showing a read-only summary of the review; copy it and send it. Revoke the link from the same place at any time, which invalidates it immediately.
